One month left for data collection

Since March the average temperature inside the polycube at one of the research locations increased slightly (as indicated by the black line), proving that the automation managed to keep the local climate within surviving limits for the vegetables. Even with temperatures as low as 0 Centigrade during night at the beginning of May, the mid-day temperatures would have gone well above at least 40 Centigrade. The overall maximum temperature however was kept below 35 centigrade, even during (the Irish) mid-summer – by opening the windows and starting the ventilation fan. Over-the-night temperature increased slightly as the weather improved. A heating system would have helped by keeping the lows within more narrow margins. A future project maybe?
